HEALTH

Information Architecture for 29 Websites

Challenge
Luz Saúde, one of Portugal’s largest private healthcare groups, needed to manage content for 29 clinics — each with different locations and services — within a single CMS. The challenge was to design an information architecture that could accommodate overlapping but not identical content while remaining intuitive for users of all ages and levels of digital literacy.

Approach
We conducted extensive research and user testing to understand how patients searched for healthcare services. Based on these insights, we created a flexible IA structure capable of supporting multiple clinics, services, and shared content without overwhelming the user experience.

Outcome
The new IA allowed users to easily find services across clinics while giving Luz Saúde a scalable framework for managing 29 websites efficiently within one CMS.

ENERGY

Intranet Information Architecture

Challenge
EDP, the world’s fourth largest energy producer, employs over 12,000 people across 28 markets and multiple business units — from energy generation to healthcare. The existing intranet was difficult to maintain and not effective for such a diverse workforce. The challenge was to design an intranet that was easy to update, quick to consult, integrated with tools, and useful for all employees regardless of digital literacy or language.

Approach
We conducted a full content audit of the existing intranet and carried out interviews with both stakeholders and employees. Insights from this research informed a new information architecture designed to streamline navigation, unify tools, and provide relevant content across different business units. We then validated the structure through user testing.

Outcome
The redesigned IA created a more intuitive and scalable intranet, making information easier to access while supporting EDP’s global workforce with a tool that adapts to diverse needs.

TRAVEL & TOURISM

Website Information Architecture

Challenge
TAP’s website needed to serve a wide range of users — from those booking flights to those solving urgent problems or simply searching for information. The challenge was to design an IA that matched user mental models while also addressing SEO requirements, as many visits originated from search engines.

Approach
We restructured the website’s information architecture to prioritize clarity and accessibility. Headings were used to organize content logically, and a footer within the menu was introduced to provide quick access to essential information such as help resources and COVID-related updates.

Outcome
The new IA improved discoverability and usability, helping users quickly find what they needed while supporting SEO performance and driving organic traffic.
